What We Sell - typical items included in our catalogue

We offer and sell a wide and varied selection of merchandise ranging from 17th century oak and walnut, Georgian, Regency and Victorian furniture through to pieces made in the art nouveau and art decco periods of the 1900 and 1920’s.  

We specialise in the sale of fine art clocks ranging from early lantern examples, longcase, bracket and wall clocks; French ormolu, mantle and carriage clocks; marine chronometers; pocket and wrist watches; globes and scientific instruments; musical boxes and automata; 18th and 19th century barometers, barographs and other instruments.  

We sell paintings of all periods including oils, watercolours, prints and crystoleums, maps and samplers; silver and other precious metals from the 17th - 20th centuries; fine diamond and other jewellery etc.;  

English, European and oriental porcelain, pottery and ceramics from all periods; wine glasses and other glassware; bronzes, antique metalwork, copper, brassware and pewter from the 18th and 19th centuries; tea caddies, boxes, treen and other works of art and objects of vertu.  

Our catalogue sales generally comprise a minimum of 350 lots and where 700 lots plus are offered are normally held over two days.  Catalogues are available two-three weeks prior to the sale individually or on an annual subscription basis, and will be also be available on this website in searchable format. 


Successful Lots from Recent Sales 

 

A fine Queen Anne Walnut Bureau with herringbone string inlays 33” wide sold for £9000 (hammer price) on 1 March 2005.   A 19th Century French Champleve Enamel petite sonnerie Carriage Clock with repeating movement sold for £4800 (hammer price) on 7 March 2006

 

A fine Royal Crown Derby Cabinet Plate 8.5” diameter, circa 1898 with painted floral panels by Desiree Leroy sold for £7000 (hammer price) on 1 March 2005.   Tortoiseshell and Ivory banded Tea Caddy 4” high sold for £1900 (hammer price) on 7 March 2006.
